Hero Pilot Saves 155 People As Aviation History Is Made!

Updated : Jan 16, 2009

A Plane went down yesterday just after taking off from John F Kennedy Airport in New York on route to Charlotte, North Carolina. The airbus got into trouble after hitting a flock of geese but for the first time in aviation history, there wasn’t a single fatality on board the Boeing Airbus A320 carrying 155 people on board.

The pilot of the US Airways Airbus jet, which landed into subzero Hudson waters off New York, has been hailed as a hero after overseeing the escape of 155 passengers and crew.

The hero pilot was named by the US media as 57-year-old Chesley Sullenberger III, the former fighter pilot was praised by survivors and officials for his amazingly smooth landing of the jet belly-first into the Hudson River.

The miracle landing allowed passengers and crew to successfully escape from the stricken craft and saw Mr Sullenberger swiftly dubbed 'The Hero of the Hudson."

Now there were a few Geese hurt on impact!

VeryHappyPig say my cousin Jimmy The Goose was in New York yesterday and I can't get him on his cell phone!
