Postcard Arrives 47 Years Later

Updated : Mar 15, 2009

A postcard sent from Ohio to Montana ha s finally arrived 47 years after being posted, The Associated Press has reported.

The greeting card was discovered by insurance agent Dave Conn when he opened his mailbox. The card was sent to the box's previous renter Marion White, who died in 1988. It is believed that the card was sent in 1962 from White's friend, the late Frances Murphey, who worked as a reporter at the Akron Beacon Journal newspaper and died in 1998 aged 75.

A spokesman for the U.S. Postal Service said the postcard may have been stuck in, or lost behind, equipment.

VeryHappyPig says ah well, at least it got there eventually!!
