GAA Stars To Lead Parades
Updated : Mar 4, 2009
Four of the brightest GAA stars will lead the St Patrick’s Day parade through the capital this year.
All-Ireland winning captains Brian Dooher of Tyrone and Henry Shefflin of Kilkenny will share Grand Marshal duties with Cork footballer Angela Walsh and camogie star Cathriona Foley for the 2.5km parade.
Organisers have decided to split the Grand Marshal duties this year to mark the 125th anniversary of the GAA.
Over 500,000 people are expected to line the streets of Dublin on March 17 at the end of the five-day St Patrick’s festival.
