Another Excellent Rescue Operation.

Updated : Feb 17, 2009

Four people were rescued on Sunday after they became lost while trekking on Lugnaquilla Mountain. This was the 3rd rescue operation in less than a week for the Dublin and Wicklow Mountain rescue team and the neighbouring Glen of Imaal rescue team, which rescued two mountain climbers who had been lost for more than 24 hours in the same area on Wednesday.

Sunday’s rescue took place at about 5.30 pm when a climber, who was with two friends became separated from the others as the darkness set in. The rest of the group made the rescue call to the mountain rescue team who were able to contact the lost climber by mobile phone and guide him towards his colleagues. Mountain Rescue vehicles were then dispatched up the forestry tracks to meet with the group and all 4 people were safely brought of Lugnaquilla in a rescue jeep.

VeryHappyPig says well done, brilliant job as usual!
