Irish Students Become Construction Workers To Lend A Hand To The World’s Poorest
Updated : Feb 16, 2009
A team of volunteer construction workers are to leave for the poorest regions of Kenya to build a learning centre. The team from the Institute of Technology in Tallaght in west Dublin will fly to Nairobi in August to build the adult learning centre. The team from the institute will help manage the centre when the build is complete.
The new learning school is going to be aimed at single parents who had to leave school to give birth before their education was complete. The school will also help people with disabilities. The volunteers are still looking for donations, as well as helpers to accompany them with the build.
VeryHappyPig thinks this just shows that Ireland is full of super big hearted people!
