A soccer club, who held a minutes silence for an ex-player, were left red-faced when it emerged he was still alive.
English side Bishop Auckland FC paid tributes to Tommy Farrer (86) believing he had died, it was even noted in the local newspaper, only to learn of their mistake when a club official called Tommy's wife to offer his condolences. Mrs Farrer then informed the official that her husband had just popped out to buy a newspaper.
