Updated : Jan 15, 2009

BBC’s new documentary “The Secret Life of Elephants” shows the very human-like behaviour of elephants. In never seen before footage, the mother elephant “Harmattan” giving her son ”Buster” a good clip around the ear after he tried to get in between his mother and her newborn calf!

The documentary, which took over a year to make in Samburu National Reserve in Northern Kenya, shows how six year old Buster got very jealous after his new brother was born and he wasn’t the centre of attention anymore. Ms Saba Douglas Hamilton, who was the director of the documentary, said “We have rarely been able to spend such a concentrated time with only one group and we saw some amazingly strong emotional behaviour that we have not seen before!

VeryHappyPig got some amount of beat downs from his mother!
