REM Launch Album Recorded In Ireland
Updated : Aug 24, 2009
US rock group REM are to release a double album recorded live during a week of gigs in Dublin.
The band held five nights of working rehearsals at the Olympia Theatre in July 2007, choosing the best moments for the new 39-song record.
Guitarist Peter Buck described the run as an experiment in terror. He said: "We were just trying to do something we hadn't done before. Which meant there was no relaxing during the set.
Every second we were playing something we didn't know all that well. Which was kind of good - there were all kinds of terror elements going on during that show." REM Live at the Olympia goes on sale on October 26.
