Aer Lingus has reported a 7.5% increase in passenger numbers last month compared to June 2008.
The airline says it carried just over one million people during the month.
Passenger numbers on short-haul flights were up almost 11% to 0.92 million, while long-haul passenger numbers were down 14% to 0.11 million.
Meanwhile building materials group CRH says the global recession has led to weaker than expected trading in May and June.
However, in a trading statement for the six months to June, the company says the rate of profit decline eased substantially in the second quarter of this year.
Operating profits for the period are expected to be about one-third of those from the same time last year
