Dell Think Green

Updated : Jun 25, 2009

Worn-out and unwanted electrical equipment will be recycled free in a new green drive for Dublin.

Dell, supported by WEEE Ireland and Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council is challenging the public to take part in the event on June 27.

Electronic and electrical waste -- anything with a battery or a plug -- will be recycled at Dell's campus in Cherrywood Business Park.

It will be one of many activities happening in June as part of the firm's Green Month. Jean Cox-Kearns, of Dell said the company was committed to making its operations and products environmentally sound.

"It is very important to us that recycling options are made as simple and easy to access as possible, not just for our customers but for our neighbours and colleagues," he said.

"In 2007 we held a recycling day here in Cherrywood and the response from the public was phenomenal with over 50 tonnes of waste collected.

"We hope that the people of Dublin will once again come out in force on June 27."

VeryHappyPig says forget the blues and think pink but give a little time to think green too!
