Cost Of Living Down At Last

Updated : Dec 12, 2008

The cost of living in Ireland is at its lowest in three years after inflation fell to 2.5 per cent and the euro moved closer to the pound yesterday.

Mortgages, rent, heating, petrol and diesel prices all contributed to the fall to 2.5 per cent, compared to 4 per cent in October and economists believe the drop will continue as the European Central Bank cuts interest rates and oil prices lower.

The Euro is also at 89p sterling- its highest level ever against the UK currency.

Very Happy Pig says wohoo, about bloody time!!
