Search For Ireland's Most Infectious Laugh Is Underway
Updated : May 12, 2009
Carlsberg has announced its search for Ireland’s most infectious laugh to get people’s sides splitting in the run up to the Carlsberg Cat Laughs. The person with the chuckle, chortle, giggle or guffaw judged the most contagious will be honoured with a specially commissioned Carlsberg Cat Laughs trophy and a fantastic prize.
Laura Douglas, Senior Brand Manager, Carlsberg said “We’re looking for someone who has the sort of contagious laugh that makes all their friends crack up! Making other people laugh is one of the most endearing side effects of any laugh - so we want to recognise this remarkable talent by finding Ireland’s most infectious laugh. Laughter and having the craic is a big part of being Irish and by showcasing some of Ireland’s best we’ll be getting people well warmed up in time for the upcoming Carlsberg Cat Laughs.â€
The lucky winner will not only be awarded a trophy and the enviable title of the owner of Ireland’s most contagious laugh, but will also receive a VIP trip for two to the Carlsberg Cat Laughs in Kilkenny from 28th May to 1st June. The prize includes tickets to see some of the best Irish and international comedy talent the Festival has to offer.
If you fancy a giggle then tune in to Sean Moncrieff on Newstalk all this week, 11th – 15th May, where the best laughs will be broadcast on air. So regardless of whether you laugh with your voice, throat or nose, if you think it’s funny enough to get other people howling then call the Carlsberg Cat Laughs line on 1890 453 108 and leave your infectious laugh after the beep. Check out www.newstalk.ie for further details.
The Carlsberg Cat Laughs Comedy Festival in Kilkenny will run over the five days of the June Bank Holiday Weekend.
Fittingly VeryHappyPig has a very nasal laugh, but by all accounts is more annoying than infectious.
