Barrack To Visit Ireland

US President Barrack Obama will visit Ireland during his current term according to the Evening Herald.

Congressman and President Obama’s close confidant, Richard Neal told Herald reporter Clare Byrne that Obama, whose grandmother hails from Offaly, will visit the Emerald Isle.

“President Obama will visit Ireland you can put that in the bank.”


Superhero Shoe Saves Senator

A Fine Gael Election hopeful was saved serious injury by his shoe on Tuesday afternoon.

Senator Paschal Donohoe was run over on the path outside former Taoiseach Bertie Ahern’s favourite watering hole in Drumcondra but a heavy pair of doc martens prevented his foot from being crushed.

A Grandmother aged 84 yesterday issued a challenge to find a Mini Marathon runner older than herself.

Maureen Armstrong from Thurles Tipperary, won the Oldest Participant Award last year and believes she will win it again this time round.

Dermot Kirwan from Friends of the Elderly said “She walks a couple of miles every evening and is in tip top condition.”
