An excited lady from Mayo collected her EuroMillions prize of €500,000 today, in the National Lottery offices in Dublin yesterday. She was one of the first of two lucky players from Ireland to collect winnings.
The winner won the top prize in the EuroMillions Plus draw on Friday 17 April 2009. The €3 Quick Pick ticket was sold at Ryan’s Supervalu, Newpark, Ballyhaunis, Co Mayo. Her winning numbers were 04, 44, 29, 37 and 24.
The lady who wishes to remain private is still coming to terms with her win.
“When I contacted the National Lottery offices about my winning ticket I misheard the information and thought I had won €5,000 – I am still in shock that I have won so much.â€, said the lucky lady.
“This win is very special for me. I have no immediate plans for spending this windfall but I’m looking forward to spoiling my family and treating myself to a holiday.â€
The lucky lady plays EuroMillions regularly and has won prizes in Lottery games in the past.
In a double bonanza, an Irish couple who wish to remain private also collected their EuroMillions prize of €500,000. Their lucky ticket won the top prize in the EuroMillions Plus draw on Friday 24 April 2009.
The €6 Quick Pick ticket was sold in the Caplice Store, Castledermot, Athy, Co Kildare and the winning numbers were 16, 26, 38, 44, 46.
Meanwhile in Lotto news, the €14,500,000 jackpot from Saturday 18 April 2009 has not yet been claimed. The winning ticket was sold in Spar, Glenageary, Dublin on Friday 17 April 2009. Every winner has 90 days from the draw date to collect their prize.
