Santa Claus is coming to Dublin earlier than usual this year and will continue to break the Father Christmas stereotype by coming out of the closet in the country’s capital.
Kris Kindle will make an appearance in the Gay Dublin Theatre Festival in May as he stars in the play Santa Claus is Coming Out.
The play composed and performed by Jeffrey Solomon centres around a scandal called “Santa Gateâ€.
The play explores Santa’s secret gay life in documentary style and is meant to question just how open society is to homosexuality.
The fact there is a Mrs Claus surely scuppers any aspirations to portray Santa as gay?
Not in this comedy, they have that one covered. Mr Claus according to the play is a wife for appearance and Father Christmas’s true love is famous Italian toy-make Giovanni Geppetto of Pinocchio fame.
