Local Clondalkin Pub In Dublin Raise Big For Children’s Hospital..

The Laurels pub in Clondalkin in Dublin is doing its bit to raise big money for Crumlin Children’s hospital. Just before Christmas, The Laurels organised a fund raising calendar that raised €6500. And today a troop of cyclists will take the train to Galway and cycle back to the well known Clondalkin pub. The 30 or so strong group will leave Galway’s Eyre square at 7am on Saturday. The journey is spread out over 2 days.
All the people taking part in the cycle are raising money from sponsorship cards, and are said to have around €10,000 euro already raised. John Boland is one of the members taking part in the cycle and we were speaking to him, John said “ We are all going to do are part in this cycle whether we make it or not is a different story. We are all determined to make it. Also the cause we are supporting should push us that extra mile. Also the homecoming in the Laurels on Sunday should really push us on! There will be a lot of thirsty men and I don’t think it will be water they will be after.†Graham Fox is another member of the team and he said â€this cycle is a credit to the Laurels Pub and Pub manager Damien who organized it all. We’re not professional cyclist so we’re all in the same boat but I know we will do it.â€
Anyone who wants support the team, they will be in The Quays bar in Galway tonight doing a charity raffle. On Saturday night, they will be having another raffle in Mullingar and then on Sunday, the cyclist homecoming will be sure to raise more much needed funds.
