Country Basked Under Sun In March
Updated : Apr 3, 2009
The glorious sunshine that bathed most of the country over the last few days has marked the end of a sunnier, drier, and warmer March than usual.
Met Eireann said last month was the driest on record for nine years in parts of the country as well as being sunnier than normal everywhere, except for Cork. And, in a Saint Patrick's Day blessing, it was confirmed that the sunniest period throughout the month was the three days from March 17.
“March was warmer, drier and sunnier than normal almost everywhere,†said a Met Eireann spokesman.
“High pressure close to Ireland around the middle of the month brought mostly dry, mild and sunny conditions.’’
He added that it was the driest March for between six and nine years at some (weather) stations.
VeryHappyPig has been sunbathing since Tuesday, I’m now a nice, crispy bacon, brown!!
